Simple Ways to Romanticize Your Everyday Life This Fall

Something about fall makes everything feel a bit more cozy and magical. The changing colors of the leaves, the cooler mornings, the earlier sunsets are the perfect time to slow down and romanticize your life.
Romanticizing your life doesn’t mean making it instagram perfect it means finding beauty in the ordinary day to day details. Slowing down for a few moments to pause and appreciate the beauty around us can do wonders to boost mood as the days get shorter and winter looms.
Take an extra 5 minutes in the morning to craft your morning drink. Put your tea or coffee in your favorite mug, use a seasonal creamer that you wait for all year long. Savor those first few sips and taste the flavors. Enjoy the gentle bite of cinnamon, the warm invitation of cardamom, the brightness of pumpkin spice. Notice the leaves have changed color more today and the sun is peaking out between fluffy white clouds. Open a window for some fresh, cool air or light a fall candle/melt a new wax melt that brings out the coziness of fall. Let the warmth of the scent bring you comfort and reverie in this changing season.

Coziness applies to the textures we surround ourselves with as well. Swap your blanket to a fluffier, earth-toned blanket. Put out decor adorned with leaves, pumpkins, scarecrows, ghosts, or whatever fall adornments speak to you. Bake fluffy apple cinnamon muffins or a mini pumpkin pie, if you prefer more savory, roasted squash or pumpkin bisque are wonderful fall delights as well.
Slow down and savor the days by journaling, doodling, decorating your planner, or simply reading a fall-themed book. Pressing leaves and drying fall flowers is also a great way to add a bit of fall to your crafting and hobbies.
Finally, don’t forget to get outside. Curl up in a hammock with a blanket and a good book (bonus points for doggy cuddles), take a stroll through a nearby park to enjoy the changing leaves, sit on the porch with your morning beverage and bask in the cool scent of the fall air.

This fall give yourself permission to take a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life and savor the changing season. When you treat the everyday as extraordinary the world feels more joyful and magical. Romanticizing your life doesn’t mean changing it, it means celebrating and enjoying what is already there.
