Jessika with a K Studios
Jessika with a K Studios is a woman-owned, disabled-owned small business founded by Jessika (with a K), a photographer and artist with a passion for capturing meaningful moments – whether through the lens or on the page.
Jessika has been drawing since she was old enough to hold a crayon and taking photos for almost as long, starting with a bright yellow Kodak film camera around 1999. Photography has been a constant in Jessika’s life, a way to hold on to memories that her mind can’t always keep. Her love for nature, architecture, and quiet moments shines through in every image she takes. But Jessika’s creative journey took a more structured shape at Ohio University, where she studied in a rigorous, interdisciplinary foundations program designed to ensure every art student develops a strong base in composition, color theory, drawing, design, and critical thinking before going on to specialize in their medium of choice. This formal training laid the groundwork for her diverse creative practice today.
Jessika with a K Studios was born after Jessika was trying to come up with a Christmas present for her notoriously difficult-to-shop-for father. She created a hand-drawn portrait of her dad’s dog as a heartfelt gift. That one piece sparked interest from friends and family, and soon she was illustrating custom pet portraits that blended her technical skill with emotional value.
Inspired by the natural world and nostalgic pop culture, Jessika’s work is always personal, detailed, and filled with heart. Whether you’re commissioning a custom portrait or selecting a print from her latest photo series, you’re getting something created with intention and care.
Sustainability is also central to Jessika with a K Studios’ mission. Every order is shipped in eco-friendly packaging made from post-consumer recycled and compostable materials – so your purchase feels good and does good, too.
Jessika
Hi, I’m Jessika! I run Jessika with a K Studios, where I pour my creativity into all kinds of fun projects.
I’ve been taking pictures for as long as I can remember. My first camera was a yellow 35 mm Kodak film camera, a small, simple camera that opened up a way of seeing the world that I’ve never let go of. In part, photography is my way of remembering. My memory isn’t always reliable, moments blur or slip away entirely. But a photo holds steady. It becomes a visual anchor, helping me recall not just what something looked like, but how it felt to be there. In that way, my camera has always been more than a tool; it’s a kind of memory keeper.
Today, I’m an artist focused on capturing the quiet beauty of nature, landscapes, and small delights through a camera lens or by my own hand.
I attended art school at Ohio University with a focus in Photography and Graphic Design. I currently work (and have for the last 10 years) in the healthcare field. Talk about complete opposites!
When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me out in nature… hiking, camping, or just soaking in some fresh air. I also love curling up with a good book or trying the newest DIY I found on Pinterest.
My furry family, Daisy (cat) and Delilah (dog), are always by my side, keeping life interesting. Daisy is often referred to as the office manager, keeping this place running in tip-top shape. Delilah is the production assistant, anytime I am working on anything you can guarantee she is right next to me or under my feet.
Living with a chronic illnesses can be tough, but I try not to let it define me. My experiences with chronic illness influence my art and have given me some of the best creative ideas I’ve had!
